Self Portrait

Self portraits are things that I love & hate. I love being able to experiment with different ideas or things and I also love not having to worry about asking somebody to do something (usually over and over again). But I hate taking pictures of my face. Not because I think I’m some hideous beast or anything, I guess I’m just not 100% comfortable lol. Now, I have put my face in shots before and probably will in the furture, but I’m just more happy not. Plus, I think anyone looking at the pictures can imagine their own person or character for that photo if there’s not a recognizable face :)
I’ve done a bunch of different self portraits in the past. Most are usually just for fun. I'll see some amazing lighting, or I feel like flipping my hair around ;) Other times I'll be bored. I did do a “30 day photo challenge” one month which called for a couple selfies, so that was fun. It really is nice not having to tell someone “ok one more time, one more, turn your back just a hair this way, ok one more time, sorry one more”… I understand that’s what some people or models are use to, but I just start to feel bad and even rushed to get the shot. If it’s just me, I can do whatever, however many times, till my lil’ heart is happy!
Here are some of my past self portraits AND a video from my newest attempt! I wanted to try and get an updated "profile" picture of myself, (try being the key word in that sentence...) so I made a little behind the scenes video to bring you along and show you what I did! Pictures from that failed shoot below ;)
I really didn't like any of these pictures. Once I started looking more at the reflection in my sunglasses, I didn't like everything that was in it. There was just a bunch of little things in each picture I didn't like... Go figure lol.
Sometimes I’ll get an idea for something and just have to try it. It might not always work and I might not even get one good photo, but I always have fun trying! I think the next one I want to try will be in the desert or at night (or both!).
