Club Congress!

When I first got my camera, the big thing I wanted to take pictures of was concerts!  Not only do I love music, but I love being at a live show!  I use to go to any free show that let me bring in my camera.  Now a days I don’t get to do it as much, but whenever I get the chance, I love it.  I’ll look through our local listings to see who’s playing where and if something looks good, I'll go!

While working on some other picturesI realized I never posted these photos from Club Congress!  This was one of those shows I just picked to go to that day.  I've been to the place before but didn't know the bands that were playing.  Side note - if you've never been to Club Congress before, it's inside Tucson's Hotel Congress which is amazing!  You should check it out, they even have a bloody mary bar on the weekends! whaaaaat!?!? Yeah.  Sorry, back to the music... :)

There were three bands playing this night and it was Two-Door Hatchback, Sweet Ghosts and Dirty Bourbon River Show.  Each one was awesome and they all put on a great show!

One of the good / bad things about shows at Club Congress is their lighting.  Sometimes they'll have mostly red and blue lights on the performers which, looks really cool while you're there (in person) but kinda crappy for taking pictures.  A lot of the details and things in the pictures are lost or washed out because of the lighting.  On the other hand.... these pictures can look awesome in black and white!  All the shadows and highlights pop!  I guess depending on the subject or "feel" of what's going on in the picture, red and blue might look good.  You can always mess with your white balance and things in editing, but usually black and white is the way to go!  Needless to say, a lot of the gallery below is black & white (which I like!).

<-------  I also got a little video of all the bands while they were on stage!  Had a couple of their songs stuck in my head afterwards :)

It was a lot of fun, glad I picked this show to go watch!  You can take a look through more pictures from the night below.

Are you one of those people that love to listen to music while you're cleaning or working?  What's your favorite type of music?  Tell me in the comment section below!
